Some students need more help than others to succeed, but they can all succeed. Students will need to learn quantitative reasoning skills regardless of the profession they have. Students need to take advanced math and science courses in high school to prepare for success in STEM majors in colleges. Students come to us at different developmental levels and we should help them progress along this continuum instead of labeling them as a type. Many students are unable to advocate for themselves. Our staff will play the role of advocates for equity and opportunity. Our staff must collaborate with administrators, school staff, parents and students, and the community. Overall school data should be used to identify strengths and weaknesses and areas of greatest need. Individual student data should be used to align services and opportunities for students. Low performance among students is not the sole responsibility of those students and their parents.
